Dr. Lucic's report from Waldeck four-star hotel and medical spa, in Bad Duerrheim

Bad Duerrheim is one of the two health resorts in Baden Wuerttemberg, Germany, rated both a "curative mineral spa" and a "climatic health resort". This Black Forest town, elevation 700-900 meters, has natural saline waters that have been demonstrated as helping treat a number of ailments, particularly diseases of the respiratory and cardiovascular systems, diseases of the spinal column, rheumatic and degenerative diseases, and orthopedic rehabilitation. One can bathe in saline waters at a very good public facility, Solemar, or at several spa hotels and private clinics. By far the best of the spa hotels is Waldeck, with its private clinic for cardiology, pneumology and orthopedics with 24-hour doctors/nurses. Waldeck has a saline swimming pool (3% brine), a very good in-house medical procedure department offering diagnostics procedures and a variety of treatments including hydrotherapy, manual therapy, kneipp, respiratory therapy, cryotherapy, light therapy, electrotherapy. Particularly notable is Waldeck's success in post-operative cardiovascular rehabilitation. Waldeck's cardiovascular-preventive and orthopedic protocols include bathing in 3% brine twice a day for 30 minutes, water gymnastics, walking in the park, and various therapies. Waldeck also has an excellent wellness spa, where this Editor has enjoyed great saunas and various invigorating, relaxing, and curative procedures. The wellness spa section is particularly wonderful for loving couples.
